Managing Worksite Material Waste
Do you feel you should be doing more to reduce waste but you’re worried about the extra time it will take? Are you concerned about the extra cost or the buy-in from your team? In the course, Managing Worksite Material Waste, I’ll teach you how to plan for material waste management on a specific worksite, how to set up the worksite, how to educate trades and how to embed a daily waste management culture to your sites.
About This Course
Managing Worksite Material Waste
By 2025, global construction waste is projected to reach a staggering 2.2 billion tons. In Australia alone, we generate 76 million tonnes of waste each year, with construction and demolition making up about 35% of this total, making it one of the country's largest waste contributors.
But here’s the good news – much of the so-called "waste" from building sites can be reused, upcycled, repurposed, or recycled. Unfortunately, many find it easier and cheaper to simply fill a skip bin and send it to landfill. With some planning and commitment from you and your team, however, you can drastically reduce landfill waste, cut down on tipping fees, keep your site cleaner and more organized, and take pride in knowing you're making a positive impact on the environment.
What You'll Learn
In the course Managing Worksite Materials Waste, you will learn essential skills to effectively handle waste on a construction site. This includes planning for the specific worksite, ensuring that the setup is efficient and organised.
You'll also gain knowledge on educating tradespeople about proper waste management practices. Finally, the course will cover how to implement and maintain a daily waste management system, ensuring the site remains clean and compliant with regulations.
